Fathers day

I had a hard time coming up with a fathers day gift and at the last minute I not only figured out this fathers day gift but also every gift for my dad from now until I run out of people. I decided to make my dad a wall of badasses because he decorates his apt with only my artwork. It's pretty much like a Brianna museum there. I started with Clint Eastwood because he loves him. Let's face it, I probably won't ever run out of badasses for this project. Next I might do Sean Connery or Richard dean Anderson. this portrait turned out more realistic than I wanted, but stylizing recognizable faces is something I will have to practice. It is especially hard when using reference. I didn't get a chance to scan it because it was very last minute, but here is a crappy cell phone picture of it in progress and then finished.

I exist!

I've been really busy lately, I just started a new part time job and I've been doing a lot. Here is some stuff I have done recently and some stuff I am working on. Mostly I've been sketching, but I downloaded the blogger app on my iphone so that from now on I can force myself to update more often with pictures of sketches and then I can replace them late with scans.

First, the most recent thing I did is a birthday present. I had to sneak it home again to scan it. The construction of the actual book is a bit rushed, but I'm happy with the overall outcome.

This is a piece I have been working on for a few months. It's pretty big and I put a lot of different mushrooms in it so I have been slowly working on it. I sorta lost interest in it for a month or so, but now that I pulled it out to take a quick picture I want to work on it again. I just need to finish inking and then I can paint it. I'm going to try to finish it over the next couple of weeks when I have free time from work.

And now, just a few sketches.
